I am revisiting a project I started last year, documenting designs found with nature. My boyfriend, Jared, has started catching me unusual looking insects for me to photograph. I stick them in my freezer so they won’t move around while I photograph them (I’m still not sure how my roommate feels about this haha). These are of a luna moth found outside my house at night. I feel that the black and white allow the viewer to really focus on the details, yet the color in the moth is so fantastic as well. I think I might use the color photograph in another project I’m working on later. I hope you enjoy. There will be more of these to come…I currently have a dragonfly, honeybee, weird caterpillars and a walking stick hanging out in my freezer :)
